Overview

TopHit is a mobile video editing application for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data that stays on your device

The following data is stored locally on your device and is never sent to TopHit servers:

  • Videos and clips you import from your photo library
  • Your video editing projects, drafts, and export settings
  • Captions, text overlays, and watermark configurations
  • Chat conversations with the AI assistant
  • Music selections and audio preferences

Photo library access

TopHit requests access to your photo library to import video clips for editing and to save exported videos to your camera roll. We only access the specific items you select or save. We do not scan, index, or upload your photo library contents.

Third-party services

TopHit uses the following third-party services to provide its features:

  • Anthropic (Claude) — Messages you send in the chat assistant are processed by Anthropic's API. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data.
  • Supabase — Used to store music track metadata and app configuration. No personal data is stored in Supabase.

What we collect

We collect minimal data:

  • Basic analytics — Anonymous app usage patterns to improve the product. No personal data is tracked.
  • Crash reports — Anonymous crash data to help us fix bugs and improve stability.

We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal data. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information through the app.

Children's privacy

TopHit is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Data deletion

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control. Deleting the TopHit app removes all locally stored data including projects, drafts, and cached music. No account deletion is necessary as TopHit does not require an account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as TopHit evolves. Significant changes will be communicated through app updates. Continued use of TopHit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
